Derbi History
The history of Derbi starts with just a little bicycle workshop near Barcelona, Spain.
The main aim was to simply repair and hire bicycles but then due to their success of doing this in 1944 they then ventured into manufacturing bicycles of their own. Only a couple of years later (1946) Derbi started to develop their bicycles into motorised versions.
Derbi's products comprise of both mopeds and small capacity motorcycles.
In 2001 Derbi was purchased by the Piaggio Group, under ownership of the Piaggio group Derbi still produces scooters and small capacity motorcycles.
